Visiting Landmark

Visiting any church for the very first time can be a tough experience. Where to go? What to wear? What time to show up? What’s here for my kids? What can I expect? These and many more questions surface. Well, we want to put you at ease. Your first visit to Landmark Missionary Baptist Church will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and “at home”! Here are a few answers to your questions and what you might expect on your first visit.

1.      Finding the Church.
You can’t miss our church facility on Highway 82, just north of Vian. The main entrance is on the east side of the building, facing the highway, but you can use either of the covered entrances on the south side of the building. As you enter the building, there will be several greeters there that can help direct you to the right classes and services. They can also answer any other questions you may have.
2.      Finding Nurseries, Classes, and Services.
Our church facility is not difficult to get around, and any of the members will gladly assist you in finding the nursery, classes, and services for every person in your family. Classes are scattered throughout our facility, while the nursery is located adjacent to the fellowship hall. All services are held in the sanctuary in the center of the building.
3.      What’s here for my kids?
Starting with an excellent nursery, there is something for every age child from birth through high school. Every Sunday morning there is a safe, clean, and staffed nursery for children three years old and under. For children over three years old through high school there are fun, friendly, and Bible-centered classes. These classes are staffed with friendly and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child. We offer a children’s chapel during the morning service for those six years old and younger, but we also enjoy having the children in our services.
4.      What’s the morning schedule?
On Sunday morning, Sunday School begins at 10:00 and our morning worship begins at 11:00.
5.      What’s on the schedule for adults, and what should I expect?
Most adults attend the morning worship services where they enjoy congregational music along with specials from our choir and other church members. The music is always followed by a clear, helpful, and challenging Bible message from our Pastor, Steve Spyres, or our Associate Pastor, Aaron Heflin. The entire worship service is about an hour in length. There are also adult Sunday School classes offered during the Sunday School hour, and our staff can assist you in finding the class that would best fit your needs.
6.      How should I dress?
There is not a dress code at LMBC for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Landmark.
7.      Are there services at other times?

Yes. We have a Sunday evening service that begins at 6:00 pm. It is completely separate from our Sunday morning services, and you will again enjoy music and a challenging message from one of our pastors. This service is preceded by our Sunday evening classes, which begin at 5:00 pm. We also meet on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm for a mid-week Bible study. If you can’t be a guest on Sunday morning, we hope you’ll visit with us during another service time.

8.      Am I expected to participate in the offering?
No.  We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God’s Word, and a place where you can grow in God’s grace. Please don’t feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.

If there’s something we missed on this list, just give us a call, or ask someone when you arrive. Whether you’re new to the area and looking for a church home, or if it’s been a long time since you’ve attended church at all, we hope your first visit at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church will be awesome! We exist to serve God, as well as you and your family, and we are looking forward to meeting you personally. We hope you’ll feel right at home from the very first moment you step onto the campus! Let us know how we can serve you better, and we hope to meet you this Sunday!
